Haha what a load of soppy teary eyed old bollocks. Look back at everything in life, everything constantly changes. There is nothing wrong in that. Some people just can't handle change and thats the problem - they prefer to moan, moan. moan like a load of old women.

Apologies to the real women of WHO.

Def

The modern concept of "build it for the corporates and they (the plebs) will come" i think works the wrong way round.

I think if a club in the PL broke ranks and implemented a german style experience for fans, the corporates and sky would be queueing round the block to buy into a real football experience.

Sky and co don't really get this, they don't understand that the atmosphere created by the fans makes the whole experience real.

Their belief that all you need is to keep spending more money on "superstars" will attract a worldwide audience on tv, i think, maybe short-sighted.

I would have thought that you build a brand and experience that people have real passion for would create a regular "spectacular event" that people would want to be part of.

Surely that goes hand in hand with the Premier League taking over the top division leaving the FA all divisions below and no power anymore?

The Premier League is a massive success because they run themselves as a proper business to make money the FA didn't and still don't.
The game as we once knew it in this country is now finished as the Premier League do not give a fuck about grass roots football and success of the national side.

The Olympic crowd was full of people enjoying a once in a lifetime opportunity. They wanted to enjoy it knowing this was probably their only chance to see something like it

Crucially, the people their (myself included) could get right into the action without really giving two shits who won or lost, just enjoying the atmosphere and event

A football crowd is a completely different animal

Re: R.I.P WHUFC ?
defjam... good point. I agree about the Olympics, but those creating the atmosphere were families, women & children.

Surely passionate football supporters can match that atmosphere... but perhaps you are right, if the passion isn't there then we will all sit in silence.

I have one word for the disintegration of football as I used to love it:

SKY

All those who pay them money for Sky Sports or have done in the past are collectively culpable and have no right to moan about the present day game.

'IF we play decent attacking football and have success on the pitch then the club will grow... we will attract full houses, better players, better manager, even better players, bigger demand for tickets etc, etc...'

That's where people are going wrong, they think it's all about success etc
It's not about the stadium, the atmosphere at the Olympics was amazing!
The bottom line is football is shit.
Arsenal are pretty successful...how is their atmosphere?
Success is a poisoned chalice.
Keeping it real is where it's at, sadly football will never return there.

Most new stadiums have corporates of some kind, it's not exclusive to West Ham and the OS

Deal with it

Well as I sais at 1.51 the corporates should be fucked off.... it is up to the club, and yes I agree they are getting their priorities wrong. I have no doubt that the stadium could generate a great atmoshere!
